20 YD YEAR

2018

For one year, Carper exclusively wore clothing that they made themself from one 20 yd. roll of linen. Garments were continually reconstructed  as needed.

At the end of the year Carper performed a deconstruction of the garments. Each garment was disassembled. Every fabric scrap was laid flat into a 5’ X 60’ rectangle; returning the material to the original dimensions the project began with.

An inventory of the garments made and worn. Each row shows a monthly inventory. Each column shows how garments changed over the year.
